The Black Dog Wharf

Dockage at the Black Dog Wharf is at your own risk. The facility’s owner and operator are not responsible for damage caused by fire, theft, casualty, and any other cause whatsoever to any person, vessel or its contents.

The Black Dog Wharf is a smoke free marina.

Due to Vineyard Haven Harbor’s exposure to East and Northeast winds, the Black Dog Wharf reserves the right to limit and/or remove vessels from the dock, at the owner’s expense, for the safety of the vessels, customers and the wharf.

Law prohibits head, holding tank and/or oil discharge in Vineyard Haven Harbor. Vessels and their owners are encouraged to make use of the complimentary pump-out service available through the Vineyard Haven Harbormaster on VHF channel 9/69.

The Black Dog Wharf reserves the rights to raft vessels, full charges still apply.  During high-season rafting should be expected.

There is a two-night minimum for weekend reservations (Friday & Saturday nights) during July and August.

Customers are asked to arrive for their stay with appropriate dock lines (a minimum of six), fenders, fender board and electrical cords.  We have a supply of these items but provide them first-come, first-serve and cannot guarantee their use to every customer.

As part of our complimentary service to customers, we ask for assistance in recycling. Recyclable materials should be separated into the appropriate receptacles on the wharf.

We are pet friendly marina, however pets must be under the owner’s supervision at all times. Dogs are welcome to accompany their owner around the facility, however they are required to be on a leash.

Music must be confined within the limits of your vessel.

Assignment and re-assignment of dock space is at the Dockmaster’s discretion.

A reserved vessel’s stated overall length must include swim platform, bow pulpit, boom, bowsprit, etc. Understating of a vessel’s “LOA” may result in being reassigned dockspace or denied the reserved space altogether upon arrival. Additional dockage fees will be applied to vessels who’s tenders/dingies require dockspace or special consideration.
